Kobayashi sensei and Bura sensei
Kobayashi-Sensei
Kobayashi-Sensei came to Denmark in
1963 as an observer for the Japan Karate Association,
to evaluate Denmark's potential for becoming a J.K.A. - Shotokan base.
During this visit, Kobayashi-Sensei met with Bura-Shihan to explain what
J.K.A. was and stood for.
After an additional 2 hours training, Bura-Shihan was convinced that this was the kind of Karate he had been looking for and always had wanted to practice. Hence, J.K.A.-Shotokan Karate became a reality in Denmark, which is why we consider Kobayashi-Sensei the founder of J.K.A.-Denmark. On this occasion, all of J.K.A.-Denmark would like to extend our deepest gratitude for Sensei's great efforts both in the past and present development of J.K.A.-Shotokan in Denmark. We will end this presentation and tribute to Kobayashi-Sensei with Shihans's own profound explanation of the true Karate-Do: "In everyday life the body and mind must be trained and developed in the spirit of humility, and in critical times one must give the utmost to serve justice."
